Ghana forward Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer was in action for Hamburger SV on Wednesday night when the team locked horns with Hertha Berlin in the German DFB Pokal.

In the Round 16 encounter between the two teams, the Black Stars winger missed a crucial penalty as his team crashed out of the Cup competition.

Before missing the penalty, the attacker had scored in extra time and almost won the game for his team.

Following the shootout victory, Hertha Berlin are through to the quarter-finals of this season’s DFB Pokal.

In the game today, Hertha Berlin scored first to take the lead when Fabian Reese equalised in the 21st minute.

Later in the 31st minute, a strike from Immanuel Pherai restored parity to the game.

In the final minutes of the first half, Laszlo Benes got his name onto the scoresheet to give Hamburger SV the lead for the first time in the game.

A few minutes before the full-time whistle, Fabian Reese scored his second of the night to keep Hertha Berlin in the game.

In extra time, Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer’s equaliser was canceled out by Jonjoe Kenny before Hertha Berlin went out to win on penalties to advance to the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal.
