Ghana’s Joachim Adukor switches allegiances to represent Liberia on the international stage

Central midfielder Joachim Adukor has switched allegiances to represent Liberia after obtaining his first invitation.

The 29-year-old is part of the Lone Stars side that will play Morocco in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Casablanca.

Liberia will host the North Africans in the second Group K qualification match at the Complexe Sportif Mohamed V.

He previously played for Gefle in the Swedish Allsvenskan, for Trofense in the Portuguese Segunda Liga, Beziers in France, and OFI Crete in the Football League Greece.

In the 2018/19 season, Adukor won the double with Sarajevo, winning both the Bosnian Premier League and the Bosnian Cup. He left Sarajevo in June 2019 after his contract with the club expired.

Adukor was named to the Ghana U20 team for the next qualifying campaign in June 2012.

He was invited back to the U23 national squad in May 2015 for the qualification games for the All-Africa Games and the Olympic Games.

The former Parma midfielder currently plays for FC Aktobe in Kazakhstan.
