Ghana’s High Commissioner to Zambia Khadija Iddrisu welcomes Black Queens as Olympic qualifier nears climax

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia, Khadija Iddrisu, extended a warm welcome to the national women’s football team, the Black Queens, as they touched down in Ndola ahead of their crucial second leg Olympic qualifier against the Zambian side.

The Black Queens arrived in Ndola on Saturday morning, gearing up for what promised to be a fiercely contested match against Zambia’s national women’s team.

The stakes couldn’t be higher as both teams battle for a spot in the upcoming Olympic Games which will be held in Paris.

In the first leg held in Accra, Ghana, it was Zambia who managed to secure a victory. Despite a courageous effort from the Ghanaian side, the match ended 1-0, courtesy of a goal by Bay FC attacker Rechael Kundananji in the 18th minute.

Now, the Black Queens are determined to turn the tide in their favor as they gear up for the decisive rematch on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Zambia will also be looking to maintain their advantage and secure their ticket to the next phase of the qualifiers.
