Borussia Dortmund’s Ansgar Knauff has been receiving significant attention from other clubs following his impressive performances on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German-born Ghanaian has reportedly attracted an initial offer of €5m from Frankfurt’s sports director, Markus Krösche, for a permanent transfer. However, Dortmund is said to be reluctant to sell the 21-year-old.
Knauff has been a standout player at Frankfurt since his loan move in January 2022, playing a key role in their victory in the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League, where he was named the competition’s best young player.
He has also been a regular contributor for the club, scoring three goals in 20 Bundesliga games this season and providing four goals and five assists in 48 competitive games since joining the club.
Although Frankfurt’s offer is below Knauff’s market value of €10m, it remains to be seen whether Dortmund will be willing to part ways with the promising young talent.
Knauff’s current contract with Dortmund is set to expire in the summer of 2024, giving the club some leverage in any negotiations for a potential transfer.
