Ghanaian Yunus Musah stupendous strike for Valencia against Atletico Madrid could not stand due to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The midfielder started the game and lasted the entire duration as his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Monday.
Musah, who has been playing in midfield under new coach Gennaro Gattuso has excelled after three matches into the Spanish La Liga campaign.
The American-born Ghanaian scored from thirty metres in the 23rd minute to put Valencia ahead only for VAR to disallowed the goal.
Referee Guillermo Cuadra Fernández annulled the goal due to a previous non-existent foul after reviewing the play in the VAR called by Estrada Fernández and ended up invalidating the American’s target.
It was as result of the clash in midfield between Mouctar Diakhaby and João Félix in which no offense was observed.
