Ghanaian youth defender Bright Gyamfi scores consolation goal for Inter Milan in Viareggio Cup

Ghanaian youth defender Bright Gyamfi scored one of the consolation goals for Inter Milan’s U19 side when they slipped to a 3-2 loss against Palermo U19 in the Viareggio Cup on Monday afternoon at the Stadio Torquato Bresciani.

The 19-year-old lateral defender pulled a goal back for the young Nerazzurris on the 36th minute mark after Palermo had taken a commanding 3-0 lead from the opening 17 minutes of the game.

Gyamfi’s goal, his second in the competition, was the product of insurgent pressure piled on Palermo by Inter after the had gone down heavily.

He tore away from the right with blistering pace to combine with a team-mate to finish off his move nine minutes from the end of the first-half.

They eventually cut the deficit down to 3-2 and had a player sent off, leaving them with their second defeat of the campaign.

His Ghanaian compatriot Samuel Appiah Darko came off the bench in the second-half to play for Stefano Vecchi’s side who lost their second game of the competition.
