English-born Ghanaian youngster Samuel Amo-Ameyaw showcased his prowess as he netted a crucial goal in Southampton U-21’s hard-fought 2-1 victory against Derby County in the Premier League 2.

The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with the Saints initially taking the lead after thirty minutes through Amo-Ameyaw’s brilliantly executed driven strike.

The young Ghanaian’s goal set the tone for a dynamic contest, yet Derby County proved to be a formidable opponents, equalizing with just over ten minutes left on the clock through Cruz Allen.

The pendulum swung dramatically in the final moments when, with the game seemingly destined for a draw, defender Harry Jeffcott seized the opportunity to turn in Luke Pearce’s cut-back, securing a dramatic victory for the Saints in the dying seconds of the match.

Dibling’s superb movement allowed him to create space on the outside of the box but shot too high before Jeffries made another crucial save to keep Weston’s goalbound strike out.

At the end Saints collected all three points and a return to winning ways.
