Ghanaian youngster Jayden Addai grabs assist in AZ Alkmaar’s win against Hardenberg

In a thrilling encounter in the Dutch KNVB Cup Round 2, Dutch-born Ghanaian prodigy Jayden Addai showcased his playmaking prowess as AZ Alkmaar secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Hardenberg.

The 18-year-old forward played a pivotal role, contributing an assist that proved crucial in AZ’s triumph.

The game kicked off with Vangelis Pavlidis breaking the deadlock for AZ with a remarkable right-footed shot from a challenging angle, expertly set up by Addai through a precision through ball.

The encounter saw a seesaw of goals, with Serginho Fatima leveling the score for HHC Hardenberg in the 63rd minute with a well-executed header assisted by Matías Jones following a set-piece situation.

Jens Odgaard restored AZ’s lead with a left-footed strike from outside the box to the bottom right corner. However, the drama continued as Joerie Church salvaged a late equalizer for HHC Hardenberg in the 90+4th minute.

In the dying moments of the match, Ruben van Bommel emerged as the hero for AZ, sealing the win with a left-footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box. The decisive goal was orchestrated by Wouter Goes, who provided the assist following a corner.
