Wealdstone’s English-born Ghanaian striker Trae Cook-Appiah has completed a loan move to National League South side Slough Town for the remainder of the season.
The young forward joined Wealdstone from Walton & Hersham recently and made his sole appearance for the Stones in their 1-1 draw against Woking last month.
The loan move is aimed at providing Cook-Appiah with valuable game time and the opportunity to maintain his match fitness, having featured 26 times for Walton & Hersham this season. Wealdstone believes that this temporary switch will allow the striker to continue his development and gain more experience in a competitive league.
In a statement, Wealdstone confirmed that they have included a recall option in the deal, enabling them to bring Cook-Appiah back to the club after 28 days of the loan if required. This ensures that the Stones can keep a close eye on the player’s progress and have the flexibility to recall him should they need reinforcements up front.
Slough Town’s official statement confirming the signing reads: “We are pleased to announce the signing of forward Trae Cook-Appiah on loan from Wealdstone until the end of the season. Prior to joining Wealdstone last month, Trae had been making headlines in the Southern League, where his electrifying pace and prowess in front of goal attracted interest from clubs higher up the pyramid”
