Ghanaian striker Paul Ayongo joins Ararat-Armenia ahead of Europa conference league campaign

Ghanaian forward Paul Ayongo has signed for Ararat-Armenia, the Armenian Premier League vice-champions, ahead of their 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.

The 28-year-old joins as the club’s second summer signing and will feature in the European competition starting from the second qualifying round.

Ayongo spent last season with Portuguese side GD Chaves, where he recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances.

With a career spanning Portugal, Australia, and Luxembourg, Ayongo brings European experience; including a Champions League qualifying appearance with Swift Hesperange to the Armenian side.

His move is expected to strengthen Ararat-Armenia’s attack as they target domestic success and a strong showing in Europe.

Founded in 2017, Ararat-Armenia has quickly risen to prominence, clinching their first league title in 2019. They finished second last season and play at the 14,000-capacity Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan.

Ayongo’s versatility and experience across multiple leagues could make him a key figure in the club’s European ambitions.
