Ghanaian striker Malik Abubakari scores for Viborg FF in 1-1 draw with Vejle BK

Ghanaian international Malik Abubakari climbed off the bench to score for Viborg FF in their 1-1 draw with Vejle BK on Sunday afternoon.

The two clubs locked horns today in a relegation playoff match in the ongoing Danish Superliga season.

In a game played at Vejle Stadion, Malik Abubakari missed out on a starting role but was introduced in the second half to replace Anosike Emanta in the 63rd minute.

Ten minutes after coming on, Malik Abubakari scored with a fine strike to give Viborg FF a 1-0 lead.

His addition to the team’s attack gave the visitors the edge in their attempt to secure three crucial points.

Despite the good performance of Viborg FF, the team could not hold onto Malik Abubakari’s strike as a late goal from Kristian Kirkegaard restored parity for Velje BK to force the match to end in a 1-1 stalemate.

The result keeps Viborg FF in a good position to survive relegation at the end of the campaign.

Malik Abubakari and his teammates must, however, work in the remaining matches.
