Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Kevin Luckassen played a pivotal role in UTA Arad’s 2-0 victory over CSM Politehnica Iasi in the Romanian Superliga, scoring a goal to help secure the win.
The clash saw UTA Arad improve their head-to-head record against CSM Politehnica Iasi, which now stands at three wins and zero draws.
Luckassen started the game at the Stadionul E. Alexandrescu and lasted the full game. CSM Politehnica Iasi had more possession and managed to create more shots on target.
In the 62nd minute, Rares Pop showcased his playmaking skills by setting up Imoh Ezekiel, his shot took a deflection and entered the empty net.
In the 70th minute, VAR canceled a penalty for CSM Politehnica Iasi which was to be taken by Cristian Mihai.
Kevin Luckassen then extended UTA Arad’s lead in the 84th minute, receiving a precise pass in the box from goalscorer Imoh Ezekiel.
CSM fought back it was too little, too late, as UTA Arad held on for a well-deserved 2-0 victory.
With this performance, Luckassen has now scored six goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances in the Romanian top flight this season
