Richie Laryea, a Canadian international of Ghanaian descent, has secured promotion to the English Premier League with Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest returned to the English top-flight after 23 years following the Championship play-off victory over Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
Steve Cooper’s side overcame Huddersfield in the much-anticipated clash thanks to Levi Colwill’s own goal in the first half at Wembley Stadium.
Laryea was not involved in the final but did join his teammates to celebrate the victory.
After joining Nottingham Forest in the second half of the season, the 27-year-old made five appearances.
The contract of the enterprising right-back expires next month, and it is unknown whether it will be extended.
Laryea is of Ghanaian heritage. Reggie Laryea, his younger brother, plays soccer for the semi-professional team Vaughan Azzurri.
