Michael Baidoo has been named in Sofascore’s Swedish Allsvenskan team of the week for his outstanding performance for Elfsborg.

The Ghanaian midfielder showcased his talent for Elfsborg, contributing a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw against Varnamo in a thrilling start to the Swedish league campaign.

The 24-year-old midfielder wasted no time, scoring the opening goal just 11 minutes into the match at the Boras Arena.

His delicate finish in a crowded box, assisted by Andri Fannar Baldursson, set the tone for Elfsborg’s early dominance.

Michael Baidoo continued Elfsborg’s momentum, setting up Simon Hedlund to double their lead seventeen minutes later.

However, Varnamo fought back, with Wenderson Oliveira pulling one back before the break, assisted by Ajdin Zeljkovic.

The visitors completed their comeback in the second half, with Zeljkovic scoring the equalizer eleven minutes after the restart, ensuring a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

Jalal Abdulai and Terry Yegbe put in solid performances for Elfsborg alongside their Ghanaian teammate, while Frank Adjei made a brief appearance for Varnamo, adding to the Ghanaian presence in the exciting season opener.
