Would-be Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong says he does not feel ready to play regularly for Arsenal’s first team.Â
The 20-year-old appeared in Arsenal’s Capital One Cup win over Coventry City in September after spending 7 months on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament damage while on loan at Wolves last season.
“I still don’t believe I am 100 per cent right – obviously I am playing but I don’t think I am ready for the first team yet,” Frimpong told Arsenal Player.
The Kumasi-born has been a regular for the Arsenal’s Under 21 side as he pushes to near full recovery.
“I still need two more 90-minute games [for the Under 21s], then I will be fine.
However, he expresses worries about playing with the reserves squad.
“It is difficult when you play for the Under 21s, because even though you’re playing for points it is still not as competitive as a first-team game. The pressure is totally different.
