Newly-promoted Italian Serie B side Avellino are on the brink of completing a deal for Italian-born Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Gyabuaa from Serie A club Atalanta, according to multiple reports from the Italian media.
The 23-year-old, who currently captains Atalanta’s U23 side in Serie C, is set to part ways with his boyhood club after struggling to break into the senior team.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage, with a transfer expected to be finalized ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Gyabuaa made 44 appearances for Atalanta’s reserve side last season and previously enjoyed loan spells at Perugia and Pescara. Despite representing Italy at various youth levels, the Parma-born midfielder remains eligible to play for Ghana through his heritage.
