Ghanaian forward Latif Blessing has won the Major League Soccer (MLS) Western Conference title with Los Angeles FC on Saturday after beating Philadelphia Union on penalties.
Blessing was an unused substitute when Los Angeles played a 3-3 draw with Philadelphia Union in regulation time
Los Angeles shot into the lead through Kellyn Kai Perry-Acosta in the 28th minute mark, with the first half ending 1-0.
After the break, Philadelphia Union restored parity in the 59th minute through Dániel Gazdag.
In the 83rd minute, Los Angeles scored their second goal of the match through Jesús Murillo to make it 2-1.
Los Angeles seems to have secure victory in the regulation time but Philadelphia Union fought back to grab the equalizer in the 85th minute through Jack Elliott to send the game to extra time.
Both teams scored one goal each in extra time to make it 3-3 at the end of the game.
The former Ghana Premier League top scorer side emerged as winners after beating Philadelphia Union 3-0 on penalties to clinch the MLS Western Conference title.
Before this play-off final, Los Angeles had beaten Austin FC 3-0 to win their first MLS Western Conference title last weekend.
Meanwhile, his compatriot Kwadwo Poku made substitute appearance to propel his side to victory.
