Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey clinched the Bulgarian Super Cup with Ludogorets following a hard-fought victory over CSKA Sofia this Saturday afternoon.
Tekpetey showcased his skills for 69 minutes before making way for Brazilian forward Ryan Cruz.
This is the third time Tekpetey has won the Bulgarian Super Cup.
The match was deadlocked at 1-1 after regulation time, leading to a tense penalty shootout to determine the winner.
Ludogorets seized the lead early on through Olivier Verdon’s successful penalty conversion in the tenth minute, only for CSKA Sofia’s Nedeljko Piscevic to level the score in the second half.
Initially marked by cautious play, with Ludogorets controlling possession but lacking in attacking potency, the match intensified as CSKA Sofia rallied to force the shootout.
In the ensuing penalty shootout, both teams managed five kicks each, with Ludogorets emerging triumphant with a 4-2 scoreline.
Swiss-Ghanaian Kwadwo Duah scored the first spot kick for Ludogorets.
Olivier Verdon sealed the victory for the Eagles with a decisive penalty, securing their seventh Super Cup title.
