Ghana forward Abdul Aziz Yakubu was the match-winner for Rio Ave in their narrow 1-0 win away to Arouca in the Premeira Liga on Saturday evening.
The 24 year old’s solitary goal from the penalty spot on the hour mark was enough to hand his side all three points.
The in-form attacker has registered six goals and provided three assists for the Green and Whites in 12 games in the Portuguese top flight division this season.
The victory sees Rio Ave move up to 9th on the standings with 18 points.
