Ghanaian footballer Thomas Boakye has signed with Icelandic second-tier club UMF Njardvik for the remainder of the season.
The 32-year-old defender brings extensive experience from his time in Swedish football, where he played for Ostersunds FK, Varbergs BoIS, and Halmstads BK.
Boakye accumulated over 250 appearances and scored 24 goals in Sweden, showcasing his versatility as a full-back and midfielder.
After his contract with Halmstads BK wasn’t renewed last season, Boakye was a free agent until joining Njardvik.
The club hopes his leadership and experience will boost their chances in the final stretch of the campaign.
