Black Stars defender, Tariq Lamptey was on target for Brighton as the Seagulls recorded a shock 3-1 win away to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
Eddie Nketiah gave Arsenal the lead at the Emirates stadiums with a curling finish but Danny Welbeck scored from the penalty spot to restore parity for the visitors.
Kaoru Mitoma put Brighton ahead after the break before Lamptey sealed the victory with a low strike to ensure De Zerbi’s men progressed to the next round of the competition.
The 71st minute strike was his first goal of the season. Tariq Lamptey is expected to make Ghana’s final squad for the 2022 World Cup which is set to be revealed in the coming days.
