German-born Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer has made significant strides in his recovery from a thigh muscle injury, as reported by FC Augsburg (FCA) head coach Jess Thorup on Thursday.
The 24-year-old, who has been sidelined for the past four games, participated in the team’s warm-up and passing exercises, indicating a promising return to full training.
Thorup expressed optimism about Pfeiffer’s progress, stating, “It looks very good.” He further revealed that the plan for Pfeiffer’s return remains unchanged, with the defender expected to fully rejoin team training next week.
Pfeiffer’s injury had initially led to reports that he would only make the final step back into team training the following week. However, his participation in this week’s exercises suggests a faster-than-expected recovery.
Thorup hopes that Pfeiffer will be able to fully participate in all training activities at the start of the new week. If his recovery continues at this pace, Pfeiffer could potentially become a squad option for Augsburg after the international break.
