Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei has shared his excitement following Lorient huge triumph over Stade Rennais in the French Ligue 1.

The 21-year-old lasted the entire duration as Lorient shocked Rennais with a 2-1 away win in the week 24 of the top-flight on Sunday.

Adjei was rock-solid at the back for Lorient as they secure a crucial win at the Roazhon Park as the fight against relegation continues.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the encounter.

Lorient opened the scoring through Mohamed Bamba in the 59th minute mark before Elie Kroupi sealed victory for the visitors on stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Rennais managed to grab a consolation goal in injury time through Amine Gouiri.

After the game, the on-loan Hammarby defender took to social media to celebrate his side triumph over Rennais.

“Huge 3 points yesterday, fans were class” he wrote on Instagram.

Nathaniel Adjei joined Lorient during the January transfer window and has since established himself as a key member of the team.

The 21-year-old has made a good account of himself in the six games he has played so far for the club.

Out of the six games, Lorient have recorded four wins, one draw and one defeat.

His loan deal is expected to expire in the summer.
