English-born Ghanaian attacker, Brandon Thomas-Asante, was the star of the show as West Bromwich Albion secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on Wednesday evening.
The win bolstered the Baggies’ play-off hopes as they currently sit 5th on the league table with 72 points after 42 games.
The Hawthorns played host to the fixture, with Thomas-Asante starting the game and lasting 83 minutes. The 23rd minute saw the Ghanaian attacker break the deadlock with a right-footed shot from close range, finding the high centre of the goal. The assist was provided by Adam Reach, setting the stage for a dominant West Brom performance.
Just before half-time, John Swift doubled the Baggies’ lead, converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the centre of the goal.
The win marked West Brom’s 4th victory against Rotherham United, with the Millers only managing one win and one draw in their head-to-head record.
Thomas-Asante has made 36 appearances, scored eleven goals, and assisted two goals in the Championship this season.
