Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has named two home-based players in his final 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim and Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh were included in the roster which was revealed on Monday.
This comes as welcome news for the two Ghana Premier League clubs who are set for significant cash-windfall from FIFA.
The selection of Danlad and Barnieh will mean a payment of 10,000 US dollars each to Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak for each day they remain with the national team at the World Cup itself and during the official preparation period.
The tournament officially kicks off in six days but before the opening match and until the day the team is eliminated, the player’s club will receive $10,000 daily, regardless of whether they play or not.
