Panama, one of Ghana’s Group L opponents at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, have lined up two international friendly matches against South Africa as part of their preparations for the global tournament.
The games are scheduled to be played in South Africa between March 27 and March 31, 2026, the South African Football Association has confirmed.
Currently ranked 33rd in the FIFA World Rankings, the Central American side are fine-tuning their squad and tactical approach while also gaining experience against African opposition ahead of their opening group match against the Black Stars on June 17 at BMO Field in Toronto.
Thomas Christiansen’s team recently hosted Bolivia and Mexico in friendly encounters last month as they intensify preparations for the expanded 48-team mundial.
After facing Ghana, Los Canaleros will take on Croatia on June 23 before wrapping up their group stage campaign against England at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
