Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Forson Amankwah has received a significant nod from Ghana coach Otto Addo, earning a spot in the starting lineup for the international friendly against Nigeria.
The 21-year-old midfielder received a late call-up to the squad following an injury to Elisha Owusu. Despite the short notice, Amankwah has been thrust into the starting eleven, joining Baba Iddrisu and Salis Abdul Samed in midfield as Ghana aims for victory against the Super Eagles.
The match, set to kick off at the Grande de Stade Marrakesh in Morocco at 4 pm, promises to be a fiercely contested affair between two footballing giants.
In the absence of Andre Ayew, who starts from the bench, Jordan Ayew will lead the team as captain.
The experienced forward will look to inspire his teammates to a positive result under the guidance of coach Otto Addo, who is embarking on his second stint with the Black Stars.
