Ghana will take centre stage in African youth football as it hosts the 2025 Cheetah Cup; a major youth tournament set to run from August 17 to 25 in Senya Beraku.
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone, with 24 elite youth clubs from across the continent confirmed to participate.
As host nation, Ghana leads the charge, fielding 12 clubs, more than any other country. These include household names like Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak, as well as dynamic academies such as MSK Zilina Africa and Cheetah FC, the tournament’s founding club.
The Cheetah Cup has rapidly grown into a premier platform for nurturing young football talent in Africa, and Ghana’s prominent role highlights its continued commitment to grassroots development.
Youth sides from 13 African countries will feature in this year’s competition, including teams from Nigeria (HypeBuzz FC), Mali (Djikiya FC), Cameroon (Oyili FC), and Burkina Faso (Salitas FC).
The inclusion of clubs from Cameroon and Benin—nations not represented in previous editions; demonstrates the expanding reach and appeal of the tournament.
In addition to intense on-field action, the 2025 Cheetah Cup will attract European scouts and agents, offering a valuable international exposure for young players aiming to launch their professional careers.
