English-born Ghanaian striker, Eddie Nketiah netted a brace on Wednesday evening to inspire his Arsenal outfit to defeat Chelsea 4-2 in the English Premier League.
Following his weeks of hard work in training in the last few weeks, the talented forward today started for the Gunners when the team visited Stamford Bridge.
Leading the lines to the delight of the Arsenal fans, Eddie Nketiah scored in the 13th minute after capitalising on an error from Christensen to shoot the team into a lead.
Unfortunately, that lead would not last as Chelsea striker Timo Werner scored four minutes later to restore parity for the home team.
Ten minutes later, the game turned on its head once again as Emile Smith-Rowe scored to hand Arsenal the lead for the second time in the game.
Although a Cesar Azpilicueta goal in the 32nd minute would force the first match of the contest to end in a 2-2 stalemate, the second strike from Eddie Nketiah in the 57th minute plus a late strike from the spot by Bukayo Saka won the match for Arsenal.
Today’s victory keeps Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four alive.
