Ghana suffer defeat to Benin in Wafu tournament in Kumasi

A ten-man Ghana side suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Benin in the Wafu Zone tournament in Kumasi on Saturday evening. 

Coach Maxwell Konadu’s dominated possession and created avalanche of scoring opportunities in the first half but failed to convert of them before home fans.

Midfielder Emmanuel Asante received a straight red card after a silly tackle on a Benin opponent midway through the second-half.

Ghana opened their campaign on a resounding note thumping Sierra Leone 4-1 in the opening game of the competition.

The Local Black Stars must win their last game at the group stages againts Burkina Faso to stand any chance of qualifying to the knock-out stages.
