Ghana will be without Andre Ayew for the country’s 2014 World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zambia in June.

The 22-year-old has been ruled out of action for two months after he underwent a successful operation to repair his troublesome shoulder injury in Lyon on Tuesday.

The absence of the impressive winger will be a massive blow for newly appointed boss Kwesi Appiah who will need to present his best arsenals for the game against a Chipolopolo side that killed the ambitions of the Black Stars at the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

Their painful 1-0 victory over the Black Stars ensured the team’s quest to end a 30-year drought for a trophy was delayed.

The Marseille winger who has become an integral member of the African giant since he broke into the team in 2008 will be missed for the two games as his character and team spirit has played influential role in the impressive outings of the Stars in previous tournaments.
