Defender Seidu Abubakar’s late header clinched a 1-0 victory for FC Samartex against Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.
The first half remained goalless as Legon Cities’ goalkeeper Kwame Aziz made crucial saves, keeping his team in the game.
Both sides created promising chances, with Albert Yeboah nearly putting Legon Cities ahead, only for Samatex goalkeeper Kofi Baah to deny him.
In the 90th minute, Seidu Abubakar came off the bench to head in a goal from Samuel Tetteh’s well-placed free-kick, securing all three points for the hosts at the Nsenkyire Arena.
Samartex now climb to third place on the league table with 17 points after ten games.
They will host newly promoted Young Apostles in their next fixture.
Legon Cities, still at the bottom of the standings with eight points, will face Holy Stars in their upcoming match.
