Former champions Accra Hearts of Oak aim to get back to winning ways on Sunday after losing 1-0 to Real Tamale United on Matchday One of the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League season.
The Phobians host Nsoatreman FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday as they seek to continue their smooth run against their host.
Hearts of Oak are unbeaten in two games against Nsoatreman FC having recorded two wins in their last two meetings.
The former African champions were the only side that defeated Nsoatreman FC at home in their debut Premier League season – scoring 3 and conceding 1 goal in the process.
Nsoatreman FC had a blistering start to the season with a 2-0 victory over BechemUnited at home.
New recruits Manaf Umar and Osei Bonsu scored in either half to give them victory against the Hunters – setting the tone for a good season. Nsoatreman have lost 15 of their last 17 away games – picking only 1 win over Berekum Chelsea and snatching a draw against Kotoku Royals in the 2022/23 campaign.
Former Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities head coach, Maxwell Konadu goes into the game with an impeccable record against Hearts of Oak – as he remains unbeaten in games against the Phobians. Maxwell who who took over in July this year, had enough time to put the team in shape ahead of the season. The former Ghana forward comes up against Martinus Hendrikus Wilhelmus Koopman who lost his first game to Real Tamale United.
The Phobians have signed Martin Karikari, Rapheal Dwamena, Kelvin Osei Asibey, Kofi Agbesima, Liventus Arthur, Ramos Kashala Wanet, Michael Ampadu, Evans Adomako with Salifu Ibrahim, Kwadwo Obeng Junior, Dennis Korsah and Suraj Seidu all available for selection.
Nsoatreman FC have also brought on board Manaf Umar, Osei Bonsu, Felix Hammond, Dennis Votere and Kwabena Adu Meider in their bid to maintain their Premier League status for the second time running.
