Ghana Premier League: Heart of Lions maintain top spot with win over Basake Holy Stars

Heart of Lions continued their dominance in the Ghana Premier League with a thrilling 3-1 win over Basake Holy Stars at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The victory marked their 21st unbeaten game in 22 matches.

Nana Oppong opened the scoring for Heart of Lions in the 11th minute, followed by Emmanuel Ofori Sakyi’s goal 10 minutes later, giving the home team a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime.

Basake Holy Stars fought back in the second half, with Emmanuel Agyei scoring on the 61st minute to reduce the deficit.

However, Nana Kwame Oppong sealed the win for Heart of Lions with his second goal in the 90th minute.

Heart Of Lions maintained their top spot with 27 points while Basake Holy Stars sit 9th position with 18 points.

The Lions take on Young Apostles in their next encounter while Holy Stars face Bechem United.
