Asante Kotoko SC defeated FC Samatex 1996 1-0 to return to winning ways and ease pressure on head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The Porcupine Warriors were on a seven match-winless streak and it appeared they were about to suffer fate.

However, Enoch Morrison scored from a spot kick in the 66th minute to earn them all three points.

The win moves the Porcupine Warriors to 10th position with 36 points after 27 games as they prepare to face Medeama SC at Tarkwa Akoon Park in their next fixture.

Meanwhile, Samartex still maintain their position at the summit of the table on 49 points.

The league leaders will host Great Olympics at the Nsenkyire Arena in week 28 fixture next week.
