Asante Kotoko SC suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions in their Ghana Premier League match at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The game’s decisive moment came in the first half when Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored after a poor clearance by goalkeeper Camara, giving the Kpando-based club the lead and ultimately securing them all three points.
Kotoko created several chances, with Albert Amoah coming close to equalizing, but Lions’ goalkeeper Thomas Osea made a crucial save to deny the hosts.
Following this defeat, the Porcupine Warriors, who also recently lost to Legon Cities, have now dropped to third in the league standings with 15 points.
They are set to face Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park next week.
Heart of Lions, now sitting seventh with 14 points, will look to continue their momentum as they prepare to host Berekum Chelsea in Kpando next week.
