Charles Sampson has confirmed Ghana’s final 21-player squad for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, where the Black Princesses will attempt to reach the knockout stage for the first time.
The tournament will be held from 5 to 27 September, with Ghana making an eighth successive appearance at the global competition.
Defender Alexandra Tay, forward Jennifer Dawah and goalkeeper Najat Abdul Salam have all been selected again. The trio are set to feature at the U-20 Women’s World Cup once more as Ghana look to build on their record of consistent qualification.
Sampson has also included goalkeepers Precious Akanguwie and Ruth Agudu Sebbie in his final selection.
The defensive options are Precious Asante, Ruby Osei, Juliana Gyekyewaa, Salma Naazo, Margaret Agyapomaa of Police Ladies and Diana Amoako of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Esther Asamoah Yiadom, Latifa Musah, Latifa Abesik, Sarah Nyarko and Ruth Amponsah make up the midfield group.
In attack, Ghana will have Ivy Osei Owusu, Jackline Ntoso, Priscilla Mensah, Angelema Akanyirige and Agnes Yeboah, the striker who plays for Guangdong Women’s.
The Black Princesses will open their Group campaign against Ecuador on 6 September. They will then face Korea Republic and France in their other group fixtures.
Ghana have qualified for the tournament for an eighth consecutive edition but have yet to progress beyond the group stage. Sampson’s side will therefore be aiming to create history in Poland by advancing to the knockout rounds for the first time.
Before the competition begins, Ghana will complete their preparations with a friendly against Mexico’s U-20 team. The match will provide the Black Princesses with one final opportunity to prepare for their opening fixture against Ecuador.
