Ghana midfielder Kumordzi scores again in Genk big win

Ghana midfielder Bennard Kumordzi scored for the second week running as KRC Genk fought from behind to smash Mons 5-1 in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday.

Israeli international Shlomi Arbeitman converted from the spot in the 33rd minute to put the host in front at the Stade Charles Tondreau but French midfielder Julien Gorius cancelled the lead with a 55th minute penalty.

Kumordzi then turned the odds and put his side in the lead two minutes later with a glorious header.

The 27-year-old used his superior aerial ability to powerfully head home a Brayan Hamalainen free-kick to open the floodgate for his Mario Been’s side.

The former Panionios midfielder has been in fine shape for Genk since his move from relegated French Ligue 1 side FC Dijon at the start of the season, helping Genk to reach the Belgian FA Cup final.

He has made 18 Pro League appearances for Genk this season.

The win has pushed Genk to third place on the Pro League table, 12 points behind leaders Anderlecht.
