Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey set for Malmo debut after securing work permit –

Malmo FF new acquisition Emmanuel Lomotey has now received his work permit and is ready to play his first match for the club in the UEFA Europa League qualifications.

The Swedish champions will play against Sivasspor on Thursday evening and the Ghana international could make his debut, Malmo sports director Andreas Georgson has confirmed.

Mahamé Siby suffered an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season which led to the signing Lomotey as a replacement.

The 24-year-old joined the Sky Blue on a four-year deal until 2026 three days ago and is their fifth summer signing.

After a year and a half in the Ghana Premier League with Dreams FC, Lomotey moved to Extremadura UD in the Spanish third division.

In total, he played just under 50 games in the Spanish second and third divisions, both for Extremadura and Villarreal B before continuing his career at French side Amiens SC.

In Amiens, he played for himself a regular place and over two seasons featured in 55 games in Ligue 2.

Lomotey has been named on the bench for Malmo as they host the Turkish side in the first leg of the Europa League qualifications final round at the Eleda Stadion.
