Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele praises Hearts of Oak leader Togbe Afede XIV for infrastructure enhancement at Pobiman

Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele has eulogized Hearts of Oak board chairman Togbe Afede XIV for his significant contributions to the team’s growth.

Since becoming the majority shareholder in 2011, Togbe has consistently pursued a transformative mission for the club, including the Pobiman Complex, which is being used by the team this season.

The Phobians has been training and playing some games including the FA Cup competiton at the Pobiman Project.

Hearts of Oak hosted Nania FC in the Round 64 of the FA Cup at the Pobiman Complex on Wednesday but suffered defeat and eventually bow out of the competition.

The game ended goalless after 90 minutes of regular time, but Nania FC proved superior in the penalty shootout, winning 4-3.

After the game, the former Black Stars captain, who is the owner and bankroller of the lower-tier Ghanaian club commended Togbe Afede for his infrastructure enhancement at the Pobiman.

“He has done a great job. We don’t have money in our game but if he has invested his own money to help the upcoming players, I will always congratulate him because nobody wants to spend his own money into the game today. Nobody wants to do it, so if you see someone who is doing please applaud that person” he said.

Nania FC defeated Asante Kotoko back in 2011 to annex the FA Cup title and are aiming to make a mark this campaign.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League after being booted out of the Cup competition.
