Ghana great Asamoah Gyan still holding onto dream to play for Asante Kotoko

Legendary Ghana forward, Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that he still dreams of playing for Asante Kotoko.

The ex-Black Stars captain in the past has declared his intention to play for the Ghana Premier League giants before he retires.

He came close to joining the club last season but in the end opted to sign for Legon Cities FC.

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Asamoah Gyan said nothing has changed in terms of his dreams to play for Asante Kotoko.

“I support Kotoko, It’s in my plans to join Kotoko but as I always say I have to be fit,” the great African striker said.

Asamoah Gyan continued, “You cannot have the talent and not be ready. Talent-wise, I am sure everybody will agree with me but the most important thing is to get back in shape and make sure there is no injury then I can decide”.

The forward who is aiming for one last dance with the Black Stars has set sight on finding a team before the start of the 2022/23 football season.

He hopes it gives him the chance to audition for a return to the national team to have a place in the squad that will play at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
