Ghana forward Emmanuel Gyasi signs loan deal with Palermo

Ghana’s Emmanuel Gyasi has joined Serie B club Palermo on a season-long loan from Empoli, with a mandatory purchase clause.

Born in Palermo to Ghanaian parents, Gyasi is poised to play a key role in the team’s push for promotion to the Italian top-flight league.

With a wealth of experience in Italy’s top two divisions, Gyasi helped Spezia earn promotion to Serie A in 2020.

“Palermo FC announces the acquisition of Emanuel Gyasi from Empoli FC. The player is moving on loan with an obligation to buy. Emanuel was welcomed to Palermo by City Football Group, President Mirri, and the entire Palermo family,” the club stated.

Gyasi’s impressive Serie A record includes 178 appearances, 15 goals, and 12 assists for Spezia and Empoli. “Non vedo l’ora di iniziare questa nuova avventura e di dare il massimo per i colori rosanero” (“I look forward to starting this new adventure and giving my best for the rosanero colors”), he said, expressing his enthusiasm for the move.

With over 100 Serie A appearances, Gyasi is one of the few Ghanaian players to have achieved this milestone.
