The Ghana Football Association has instructed it’s lawyers to institute legal actions against “persons who defame the Association.”
The lawsuit will implicate people making false allegations about the football governing body, it’s officials, products and the national teams specifically the Black Stars.
The media platform on which the defamatory statements were made will be sued as well.
“The Ghana Football Association has therefore instructed its lawyers to institute legal action against persons who defame the Association, its officials, products and destroy the Black Stars brand as well as the media platforms used to do same.” The statement reads.
“The legal forum will provide the opportunity for these persons to bring any evidence to substantiate their allegations. The Association will continue to encourage opinions and comments being expressed aimed at improving the team and the brand.”
There has been wide range of criticism from the media and other stakeholders on the Black Stars and the Ghana FA following the senior national team’s disappointing exit from the group stages of the World Cup.
