Amiens SC defender Nichols Opoku has been handed a three-match ban following his red card against Dijon in Ligue II over the weekend.
The Ghanaian international was dismissed following after a rash tackle from behind on Mickaël Le Bihan in the 2-1 win at the Stade de la Licorne.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) confirmed on Wednesday that the 24 year old will serve a three-match suspension as a result of the tackle.
He is therefore ruled out of Amiens’ upcoming fixtures against Nimes, Saint Etienne and a French Cup game at the end of October.
If he still hopes to win a place in the Black Stars squad for the World Cup in Qatar, Nicholas Opoku will not have many opportunities to showcase himself.
He is expected to be back for Amiens trip to Pau on November 5th.
