Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu was in action for Southampton in their 4-1 loss to Newcastle United in the English Premier League on Sunday.
The 23 year old lasted the entire duration at the St. Mary’s Stadium as the Saints suffered their eighth defeat of the season.
Miguel Almiron, Chris Wood, Joe Willock and Bruno Guimaraes were the goal scorers for Newcastle in what turned out to be routine win for the visitors.
Salisu provided the assist for Southampton’s consolation goal which was scored by Perraud.
Salisu Mohammed has been named in Ghana’s 55-man squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup which kicks off on November 20.
He is expected to play a key role for the Black Stars in Qatar.
Ghana are in Group H alongside Portuga, Uruguay, and South Korea.
