Ghana defender Abdul Mumin has begun training with Rayo Vallecano after signing a four-year contract with the club.

Mumin has decided to continue his development in Spain with the La Liga club, leaving Vitoria SC in the process.

He started training with the team this week and could make his debut against Valencia on Saturday.

“Rayo is a historic club and has a great group. I already feel like part of the family. Andoni Iraola is a great coach and the atmosphere within the team is very good. I feel that it is the best step I could take to continue developing and reach my goal.” potential,” Mumin said, in statements released by the club.

The centre-back faces a new professional stage in Spain after playing the last two seasons in Portugal where he played 61 official matches, four of them this season.

Mumin previously played for Ghana’s Right to Dream until he left for Denmark in 2016 to enter the Youth category of Nordsjaelland, from which he left in 2020 after two years in the first team.

“I am very happy. The first day has been good because both the players and the coaching staff have received me very well and I have been very welcome. I have felt at home because of the treatment I have received on this first day”, he confessed.
