Ghana’s national team coach, Otto Addo, has met with Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew in England as the Black Stars prepare for their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The meeting comes after a turbulent October international break for the Black Stars, during which Ghana managed only a goalless draw against Sudan in Accra and then fell 2-0 in the return leg in Libya.
According to report from kickoffghana.com, Addo visited Leicester over the weekend to meet Ayew, aiming to address issues and clarify decisions from the last international break.
It is understood Jordan, who is the longest serving player in the squad, was unhappy for not consulted over the decision to hand Mohammed Kudus the captaincy during the doubleheader against Sudan.
As a result, the discussion is seen as part of an effort to unify the team and boost morale ahead of the critical matches.
Ghana will face Angola in Luanda on November 15 before hosting Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.
The Black Stars must secure victories in both matches and hope Sudan drop all points in their remaining games to keep their slim qualification hopes alive.
