GHALCA Top 6: Bechem United beat Great Olympics on penalties in first match of tournament

The 2022 edition of the GHALCA Top 6 tournament has started today, Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

In the first match of the pre-season tournament, Great Olympics locked horns with fellow Ghana Premier League club Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium.

At the end of the 90 minutes of the game against Bechem United, Great Olympics battled to a goalless draw.

Unfortunately, the team lost 5-4 on penalties and must now win the second match of the tournament or suffer elimination.

Up next for Great Olympics, the team will take on Karela United on August 21.

For Bechem United, the club has secured qualification to the next round of the tournament thanks to the victory today.

Coach Kassim Mingle and his charges are expected to return to training on Thursday to begin preparation for the next match of the GHALCA Top 6 tournament against Karela United on August 24.
