Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford has expressed optimism despite his team’s loss to Hearts of Oak in the GHALCA Top Four tournament.

According to Hayford, the team played well tactically, but the goals didn’t come, giving room for his belief ahead of the next game against Kotoko.

“Tactically, we played everything only that the goals couldn’t come,” he said.

The team suffered a setback when their defender headed the ball into their own net following an in-swinging delivery from Ransford Mensah, but Hayford believes that’s just part of the game.

The veteran coach remains focused on the upcoming league season, stating that these preparatory matches are crucial for the team’s development.

“We are preparing them for the league. All these things are preparatory matches for the league and it’s good.”
