Ghana League Clubs Association chairman Alhaji Aliu Raji has tasked home-based goalkeepers to improve their stock and give Fatau Dauda fierce competition.
The Chippa United goalkeeper’s performance against Uganda was a major talking point after the 1-1 draw at home.
The 28-year-old is yet to fully rediscover his form after spending a lot of time on the bench at Orlando Pirates last season.
Many have called for Dauda to be replaced immediately, with his fiercest critics saying he does not deserve to be a member of the Black Stars set up.
Alhaji Raji says local goalkeepers should cease the opportunity and challenge the embattled South Africa based goalkeeper.
“The local goalkeepers have to do more and they can cease the opportunity,†Alhaji Raji told Accra based Radio Gold
“Fatau was a local goalkeeper when he ceased the opportunity and if he is having problems I think the local ones should do more and challenge him.
